Magluto Tayo!

Translating to "Let's Cook Leche Flan!", This book is designed for kids to learn an easy recipe and simple Tagalog words, helping to bridge the gap between Western and Filipino cultures. Growing up in the UK with mixed heritage, I sometimes struggled to connect with my culture due to limited resources for children like me to learn my mother tongue. This book is the first in a series aiming to teach English-speaking children various Filipino recipes step- by-step, alongside basic Tagalog words and phrases. By applying my new skills in 3D art using Blender, I was able to create lively, cartoony visuals to enhance the learning experience. Culminating in the joy of seeing the delicious final dish, it creates a fun way for children to connect to their culture and learn along the way! For an exhibition, I displayed my book alongside a poster and the dessert itself for viewers to try, creating an interactive experience.
