root & bloom academy 2025
Root & Bloom Academy is a forest-based preschool for ages 2-5, dedicated to nurturing children’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth through nature-driven learning.
This project aims to create a cohesive brand identity and guidance kit that captures the Academy’s ethos while providing essential tools for parents and educators.
Mailed to parents of prospective parents, the guidance kit consists of a die-cut leaflet, notebook, stickers, business card, plantable origami sheet and instructions, colouring sheet, and crayons, all wrapped in a transparent decorative envelope to encourage both parents and children to join the school and reconnect with nature.

Alongside the branding and guidance kit, I wrote an essay on the effect and phenomena of young children and screen usage. This research is what pushed me to create Root & Bloom Academy in the first place, creating a solution for children in digital times.
Inspired by the childlike roots of paper crafts and rudimentary printmaking, I created illustrations based on the essay. I used the same colour palette as the Academy, keeping a playfulness while staying child-friendly and relating back to nature. Finally, I printed and bound the book with embroidery thread, creating a rustic feel to blend the ideas raising children in a world of technology.
